We along with many others are excited for the potential of adding new utility to the Bitcoin network. We’ve always felt that Bitcoin buyers held a symbiotic relationship with gold buyers and we want to further explore how we can merge the two communities.

Matador’s gold reserves are stored at the Royal Canadian Mint – via a partnership with leading precious metals dealer Kitco Metals. All of Matador’s gold is currently stored at the mint apart from gold that is in transit to be printed/shipped to users.

Matador’s gold reserves can be tracked and audited using Kitco VaultChain, a blockchain solution that has partnered with the Royal Canadian Mint to allow for unprecedented visibility around exact precious metals holdings.

We support any wallet that allows users to store Bitcoin Ordinals. These include Xverse, Hiro Wallet, OrdinalsWallet, and Unisat. We are also in the process of validating support for Metamask (via Generative.xyz).

We continue to build more utility into the Matador NFT ecosystem. Key features of Matador’s NFTs include the ability to receive your NFT laser-etched onto physical gold, the ability to print custom merchandise (art, clothing) using NFTs you own, gain access to unique Matador sponsored events, and the ability to sell NFTs directly back to Matador.

Matador NFTs are denominated in Bitcoin and can be purchased using Bitcoin. NFTs can be minted (directly from our mint site) or purchased second-hand from other owners on various Ordinals NFT exchanges. To be updated when a new release is launched, please join our discord, or mailing list.

Users can list their Matador art NFTs for sale on any platform that allows users to list Bitcoin ordinals including Gamma.io, MagicEden, and Ordswap.
